Miss Katie Sings (she/her) is an Asian American songwriter, performer, and children’s media-maker based in Chicago. Her mindful songs focus on social-emotional learning, creative play, and community care. Likened to Mister Rogers by TODAY, her soothing voice and demeanor has been a comfort for both children and adults alike.
Her recently released album “Just the Way You Are” has been placed on editorial playlists and focuses on supporting children to build a radical foundation of self-love.
In addition to songs, Miss Katie Sings also creates musical storytelling adventures. Her “Singalong Stories” series has become popular cards on Yoto. She also co-writes a featured show on Hatch called “Goodnight, Starlight” where she sings and voices the titular character.
Miss Katie Sings also composes for theatre productions. Her song, “Little Seeds”, from the forest play, “In the Grove”, was featured at the national conference for TYA/USA (Theatre for Young Audiences/USA) as part of a selective showcase.
Miss Katie Sings performs across the US and runs virtual programs for a global audience. Through her work, she wants children to feel respected and valued, and believes in the power of music as a way to connect – with ourselves, our community, and a kinder, better world.
